Why does Easter change every year whereas Christmas is fixed; in Islam there is no such discrepancy?

Islam follows a lunar calendar so all major festivals change every year – but according to a set formula. It appears Christianity follows neither a lunar nor a solar calendar as some holidays change and others do not: why the discrepancy for Christians?
